Dr. Vivian Sovran is a Licensed Primary Care Provider in Washington state and received her doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University. After graduation, she completed a two-year residency with Dr. Candace Aasan at Cascade Natural Medicine, during which she gained invaluable experience, mentorship, and knowledge in the fields of naturopathic pediatric and women’s health care. In addition, Dr. Sovran has extensive training in Midwifery care, also acquired while at Bastyr. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree, specializing in Human Physiology, from McGill University in Montreal, Canada, and is a fluent French speaker.
In her practice, Dr. Sovran strives to provide a compassionate, professional, friendly, and welcoming environment. She makes it a priority to serve as an advocate for her patients and their families, and takes a sensible, yet flexible approach to treatment, with the belief that each little, lasting step towards improved health should be celebrated as a valuable achievement. Dr. Sovran's goal is to help her patients achieve optimal health for themselves and their families through general lifestyle education and counseling, encouragement and empowerment, and traditional naturopathic therapies, while employing her utmost concern for each individual and our environment. She considers it a privilege to have the opportunity to promote optimal health in a new child, starting before conception and birth, and continuing through the first days of life and beyond.

Dr. Robin Russell graduated from Bastyr University in 2005 and opened her clinic, Natural Pediatric Medicine, later that year in Issaquah. Dr. Robin Russell joined Cascade Natural Medicine in October of 2007. Before attending medical school, Dr. Russell completed her undergraduate work at
Dr. Russell’s expertise in pediatric medicine stems from extensive clinical training with women and children while attending Bastyr University. Before completion of her degree, Dr. Russell studied with Dr. Aasan and truly grew to love working with women and children. Dr. Russell also studied at several Planned Parenthood locations in Dr. Kat Martin is a Naturopathic Physician and Licensed Midwife. Dr. Martin is a graduate of Bastyr University’s naturopathic medicine program and a Licensed Primary Care Provider in Washington State. She is currently finishing up her second year of her residency with Dr. Sheila Kingsbury. In this role, she works closely with Dr. Kingsbury in evaluating and treating her patients. Dr. Martin maintains her naturopathic practice here at Cascade Natural Medicine and had decided to take a break from her midwifery practice to spend more time with her first child. Dr. Martin is currently an adjunct faculty member in the Botanical Medicine department at Bastyr University and also serves as the Interim Assistant Director of the university’s Naturopathic Midwifery Program. She received her Bachelor’s degrees from Indiana University, in both Biology and Anthropology.
Dr. Russell’s special interest in pediatric healthcare includes promotion of health and wellness during well child exams by addressing any health concerns at each visit, assessing nutritional requirements, assessing developmental milestones, complete physical exam and full discussion on topics and health/safety issues related to each age group. She offers parents much guidance in making the right decisions for their children regarding vaccines and offers alternative vaccine scheduling suitable for each individual parent and child’s needs. Dr. Russell’s particular areas of pediatric interest include food allergy testing for common childhood problems such as eczema, chronic ear infections, and ADHD. Dr. Russell’s areas of interest in women’s health include pregnancy planning and nutrition, pregnancy and postpartum complaints, hormone imbalances, menopausal symptoms and gynecology. Another area of interest for Dr. Russell is using amino acid therapy for behavioral or neurological problems like ADHD, depression, and anxiety.

Dr. Sheila Kingsbury is a Naturopathic Physician, Lactation Consultant and Registered Herbalist. Dr. Kingsbury is a graduate of
Dr. Kingsbury enjoys helping others to reconnect their health and their lives to the natural environment around them. She works with each individual patient to create a preventative approach to health that addresses their diet and lifestyle as well as their mental and emotional health. Dr. Kingsbury specializes in pediatrics and women’s health. She is able to provide care for children of all ages. She focuses on individualized treatments which may include nutritional therapy, botanical medicine, homeopathy or hydrotherapy. Dr. Kingsbury has been chair of the Seattle-King County Breastfeeding Coalition for the past two years. Dr. Kingsbury is also a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, American Herbalists’ Guild, and The American Botanical Council. Sheila lives on the Eastside with her husband, four children and one cat. She is a preferred provider for most insurance companies and is not currently accepting new patients.
Dr. Kat’s family care practice focuses on both acute and chronic health issues of all types, with specialties in pediatric care (including well child checks, assistance with vaccine information and alternative scheduling, and common complaints such as ear aches, skin issues, allergies, and food intolerances), women's health (including pre-conception, pregnancy and the post-partum period) and whole family wellness. In practice, her treatments employ diet and lifestyle modification, nutritional therapies, botanical therapeutics, homeopathy and hydrotherapy to revitalize the body, mind, and spirit. As your naturopathic physician, Dr. Kat believes that health promotion and disease prevention are of utmost importance and seeks to optimize your health by calling on your body's innate ability to heal itself, restoring balance to your emotional and physical being. She is honored to be able to help you on your own unique path to wellness, starting sometimes even before birth and continuing the journey through all the life cycles.
Dr. Kat lives in Seattle with her husband and their daughter. She shares a practice with Dr. Kingsbury and is currently accepting new patients.
